Amendment of the Standard Settlement Cycle for U.S. Securities Market

 

Pursuant to the rule amendments adopted by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") on 15 February 2023, the standard settlement cycle for U.S. Securities will be shortened from two business days after the trade date (“T+2”) to one business day after the trade date (“T+1”), effective May 28, 2024.

 

This change in the settlement cycle will not affect investors’ trading of U.S. securities. However, clients should be aware of this adjustment and ensure that their funding and securities settlement arrangements are adapted to meet the requirements of the shortened settlement period.
